Capturing history while it’s young.
The 37-minute documentary, 50 Years of Slickrock, celebrates 50 years of the Slickrock Bike Trail and its importance to the Moab community. It traces the Trail’s evolution from its beginnings in 1969 – when Moab was a small Uranium mining town – to present day where tens of thousands of mountain bikers come from around the globe to ride its challenging one-of-a-kind landscape.
This trailer was created to promote the September, 2019 world premiere of 50 Years of Slickrock at Star Hall in Moab.
Over 30 people were interviewed to tell the first-hand evolutionary story of the trail and it’s users, including the challenges it has faced through the decades.
Slickrock Bike Trail is located in Sand Flats Recreation Area and managed through a partnership of Grand County and the Bureau of Land Management.
The slickrock bike trail is a relatively new landmark at only 50 – but our clients knew its importance and we captured the early history of this historic trail before it was lost to the ages.
